Well, you are all wonderful. My kickstarter made its' goal and surpassed its' stretch goals. I am going to use the overage to produce a Bardic CD of both song and story for released sometime in the fall. If you join with me, you will be some of the first to get that CD as well as helping to finance this one, Dance in the Fire.https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/arthurhimds/come-with-me-and-dance-in-the-fire

This is song by Emerald Rose and is from the album, "Archives of Ages to Come." Words and music are by Arthur Hinds. It is a song about transformative experience, or perhaps what some call initiation.

10:19 pm - HAPPY MAY DAY FROM EMERALD ROSE

paidiraiompair

Here is a montage picture video for the Emerald Rose song, "Merry Mayfolk." It is a song about the coming of glorious summer, and the spiritual connections between different spiritual.paths for those with eyes to see. The lyric is rooted in a poem by Alfred Noyes called, "The Lord of Misrule." This version is from their live album, "That Night in the Garden."

current mood: happy

A Madwhistler (Larry) interpretation of Arthur's ancient Welsh mythic song. Perhaps not the authoritative translation, but I often think direct is best.

Celtic Music That Rocks!
Emerald Rose is a four-man folk rock band in the New Celtic tradition with a rich, original "world fusion" sound with influences ranging from the Chieftains to Jethro Tull. Blending harmony vocals, pennywhistle, Irish pipes, world percussion, driving guitars and bass, their music ranges from traditional jigs and reels to original folk rock and pop numbers. Many of the band's musical themes draw from Celtic myth and legend, but their style is modern, upbeat and accessible.

7:30 pm - News From Emerald Rose

paidiraiompair
Hello from Emerald Rose!  We have lots of exciting news for our friends and fans!

It has been a very busy year for our band, and we spent the best part of the summer locked away in our dungeon studios to bring forth our latest cd, Verdant.  This cd features a wide diversity of songs, exploring musical territory from Steampunk inspired epics (Her Majesty’s Airship Corps, Clockwork Love) to folk rock (Castaway, Mixdown) to Celtic ballads (Shepherdess of Dreams, Empty Island), each song telling a unique story. There are also lively dance instrumentals (Salamanca/Sailor’s Bonnet, The Peat That Smokes the Barley), and unusual song  inspired by Tielhard the Monk’s philosophy (Omega), and a LIVE version of the band’s well know goddess anthem “Freya, Shakti”.

“But guys, where can I get this cd?”  Well, folks, we are going to send you in the right direction to have a listen and download this new music!  You can always get our music at our live gigs, but to hear cuts from Verdant and buy it online, just click over to one of these links:

iTunes Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/verdant/id476270847    If you click on the View In iTunes link under the cd cover, you will be taken to the iTunes store, where you can hear partial cuts from the tracks and download the music to your computer.

CDBaby.com:  This is the big site for independent musicians.  Verdant is currently # 1 on the Celtic Fusion charts and # 8 on the World:Celtic charts!  You can also listen to partial cuts from the cd and download the music. Just click over to: http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/emeraldrose12 to hear some of the new cuts!

As always, we are deeply appreciative if you can leave a review for other people to read.

New VIDEO from Emerald Rose! We worked with Godmother Productions to bring you this wonderful music video of the LIVE version of ‘Freya, Shakti’, recorded right here at Starbridge, and the soundtrack is Track #13 on Verdant!  Check us out on youTube:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aq46c-hQUWo !  They did a GREAT job of using the video we shot at the sessions for That Night in the Garden, really capturing the essence of our live performances and if you look closely, you may see yourself in the audience!

LIVE PERFORMANCES:

Scottish Songwriter Jim Malcolm in Concert with special guest Brian Sullivan!
November 15th    Holly Theater (Downstairs)

Dahlonega, Georgia 30533            8 pm   $15
“Jazz Pub” Environment, drinks and snacks available!

Brian “Logan” Sullivan will open for Celtic master musician Jim Malcolm at the Holly Theater in Dahlonega! Jim was the lead singer for Scottish supergroup Old Blind Dogs for many years, and has been a master level instructor at the Swannanoa school for Celtic music. That’s where he ran into your friend Logan, who was mighty impressed by Jim’s rich baritone voice, phenomenal guitar playing and the ability to play bagpipe tunes on a harmonica (while playing guitar).  Learning of Malcolm’s soft spot for fishing the lochs and lakes of the world, it wasn’t long until Logan had convinced him to come to Starbridge and the two became fast friends, sharing a passion for big fish, fine whiskey and Celtic music.  Logan has opened the show for Jim several times before, but this year the two may actually play some songs together!  Jim Malcolm is touring  the US in support of his new cd ‘Sparkling Flash’.  Check out his music at www.jimmalcolm.com !  For tickets, call the Holly Theater Box Office, and ask to be put on the list for Jim Malcolm. Only 70 seats available, so give them a call at 706 864-3759 to reserve a space. Tickets will be purchased at the Box Office on the night of the show.

9:43 pm - Greetings from Emerald Rose!

paidiraiompair
Just in :

Greetings from Emerald Rose! We'd like to announce our NEW CD:

"Verdant" is our first all-new studio album since 2007, and has 13 tracks, nearly all original compositions or "ER" arrangements of Celtic classics. It's a diverse collection, with every style from classic rock to Celtic dance to lullaby! You'll find some of our new "steampunk" sensibilities on there with "Clockwork Love" and "Her Majesty's Airship Corps." We have some breezy Jack Johnson-esque pop, some great instrumentals, a couple of dreamy original ballads, and the universal-consciousness groove of "Omega." We think you'll like this one a lot! Yes, it'll be available on CDBaby.com, but be patient...we don't even have our own copies yet!

We're only a couple weeks away from Dragon*Con Atlanta, which will be the first place to get this CD (signed, of course!) If you're going, look us up (probably in the Marriott lower level) and see one of our several shows. We have new T-shirts and stickers, too!! If you can't be there, we're also playing at the Irish Bred pub (Gainesville, GA) on Sept. 17 and Matilda's in Alpharetta on Oct. 1 -- see our gigs page for details/updates.

It's been an exciting and busy couple of months for our band, and we're delighted we have some new tunes for you! Come out and see us soon!

-Emerald Rose
